Dogwood
Hole #1
PAR: 4 | HANDICAP (M/W): 5/4
A picturesque view of the only pond on the property awaits you at the tee box of the opening hole of Dogwood. Water all down the left side makes the bail out area to the right a popular spot. The widest part of the fairway is around 150 yards from the hole, making this the ideal target off the tee. Driver can be used for most, but a fairway wood or long iron may be needed for long hitters to avoid the trees on the right side. Risk reward can be taken as the fairway becomes narrower the closer you get to this undulated green. The green mainly slopes towards the water on the left side of the green. Two quality shots are required to escape this hole with a good score.
Dogwood
Hole #2
PAR: 5 | HANDICAP (M/W): 1/2
A fairly wide fairway allows players to attempt a longer drive on this par 5. A slight dogleg right decends and works its way back up a substanial hill. An extra club will be needed and long hitters can reach this green in two. Most players will elect to hit to their desired yardage to attack on their 3rd shot. A false front guards short shots that can roll 30 yards down the fairway. With the green sloping from back to front, being below the hole is critical for an easier putt. Birdies are achievable, but be careful as bigger scores are just as likely if in the wrong position.
Dogwood
Hole #3
PAR: 3 | HANDICAP (M/W): 9/9
Dogwood #3 features a short uphill par 3 that allows players to take aim at most pin positions. Two greenside bunkers on each side of the green guards the wayward shots. The green slopes pretty severely from back to front, so being below the hole is crucial.
Dogwood
Hole #4
PAR: 4 | HANDICAP (M/W): 4/6
One of the better views of the course is presented at the 4th tee box. A downhill par 4 that has the pond in view behind the green makes for an amazing picture. Fairway bunkers left and right guards the fairway making accuracy paramount off the tee. Longer hitters will try to carry the last bunker on the right, but the majority will need carry the closer one left. This will provide the best angle to a diagonal green that slopes front to back. Left center of the green is a popular spot due to the greenside bunkers that protect the front and right of this green. A difficult green to hold when the greens are firmer.
Dogwood
Hole #5
PAR: 3 | HANDICAP (M/W): 8/7
The signature hole of the course is Dogwood #5. The pond runs along the left side of the green and also is play for short and long shots. The bunker to the left can help protect shots from going into the water, but is still tough to escape from. One of the bigger greens on the property, along with, the wind normally blowing into the players can change club selection drastically.
Dogwood
Hole #6
PAR (M/W): 4/5 | HANDICAP (M/W): 3/3
The par 4 6th hole presents a tee shot that goes into a valley with the approach shot rising back up over a steep hill. Only the tree lines on both sides protect the fairway. The green slopes severely back to front, so making sure you are below the hole is again the main priority. Two quality shots are required to navigate this deceivingly tough hole.
Dogwood
Hole #7
PAR: 3 | HANDICAP (M/W): 7/8
The longest par 3 on the property from the back tees showcases a tough challenge. Slightly downhill with the green heavily guarded by bunkers on both sides. Long is not an option either as a slope will push shots down the hill and leave a difficult recovery shot. The green is narrow up front and widens towards the back. The green slopes from back to front making this one of the most difficult holes on the course.
Dogwood
Hole #8
PAR: 5 | HANDICAP (M/W): 2/1
Just after the longest par 3, you will be introduced to the longest par 5 on the property. A downhill tee shot from the back tees allows for some added distance, but tight tree lines on both sides and Out of Bounds left demand accuracy. Longer hitters will attempt to reach this green in two, but the majority of players will lay up to a valley that is 100 yards short of the green. This will leave a steep uphill approach into a narrow but long green. This green slopes from back to front along with a steeper slope closer to the front of the green. Birdies and even eagles can be made, but plenty of big numbers are scored as well.
Dogwood
Hole #9
PAR: 4 | HANDICAP (M/W): 6/5
The closing hole for the Dogwood nine is a dogleg left par 4 that runs up towards the clubhouse. Out of Bounds left steers tee shots more towards the right leaving a longer approach that must carry the greenside bunker. A false front pushes short shots off the green. This green slopes back to front and has a steep hill coming off the bunkers on the left. Middle of the green is ideal shot on this relatively small green. Par on this finishing hole is a great score.
